About AFP WNC
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Western North Carolina Chapter (AFP WNC) is a nonprofit organization that promotes and serves the fundraising professionals in our region. We are an active membership organization managed entirely by fundraisers who volunteer time to AFP WNC. Membership is open to anyone who is committed to raising funds for community or charitable organizations.
All members agree to abide by AFP’s Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice.

Mission Statement

AFP WNC focuses its services on the counties of Western North Carolina, although fundraisers from all geographic areas are welcome to join us or attend our events. All AFP events are open to non-members.

AFP WNC is a chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). For more than 40 years, AFP has been the standard-bearer for professionalism in fundraising. Today, AFP represents 26,000 members in 170 chapters throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, and certification programs. AFP WNC carries out the mission and vision of its international organization within the counties of Western North Carolina. AFP WNC helps fundraising professionals grow and succeed through continuing education, professional support, networking, and local recognition.

Membership Benefits

AFP members have access to numerous benefits, including training, networking opportunities, fundraising resources, discounts and certifications. AFP WNC members receive a monthly newsletter, the MountainCryer. Members pay reduced admission fees for our monthly luncheons and annual events, which include our Summer Workshop and National Philanthropy Day. Special opportunities are provided to AFP WNC members, such as a member listing on this website. Members can post job listings for free on this website and in the printed MountainCryer as space permits.

How to Join

If you wish, you can join online at AFP’s international site. AFP dues vary depending on your level of membership. You can view the current levels and costs of membership at AFP’s site.

Please note that the annual cost of dues for our WNC Chapter is $25 in addition to the AFP dues. If you do not wish to join via the Internet, please contact AFP WNC at membership@afpwnc.org and we will send you a membership application.
