Eliada is seeking a Community Liaison to work a part of our Development team! The Community Liaison will be responsible for recruiting new donors and promoting Eliada in the community. Individual will organize and present workshops, seminars, and learning opportunities concerning Eliada’s mission. Other responsibilities include assisting in special events and building relationships with area churches and other organizations. Must have Bachelor’s Degree and basic knowledge of fund development principles and public relations. Minimum of 3 years experience in sales or fundraising preferred. Nature and Scope of Position: Expectation is that the Development Officer will raise sufficient funds so that the position will increase work hours to full time as donor base grows.
- Raise funds for mission of diocese
- Plan, administer, and implement fundraising activities and special events
- Develop a comprehensive development plan with specific goals and realistic timetables
- Develop and grow the organization’s individual donor base.
- Evaluate the effect of internal and external forces on the diocese and its fund development
- Develop and manage a Development Committee
- Attract, retain and motivate fundraising volunteers
- Oversee marketing and communications relating to the development function.
- Regularly upgrade and revise development materials and other literature related to fundraising activities
- Establish performance measures; monitor results and help the Bishop, development committee and Executive Council evaluate the effectiveness of the development program.
- Provide detailed reports about fundraising progress to the Bishop and Executive Council.
- Ensure that philanthropy and fund development are carried out in keeping with the diocese’s values, mission, vision and plans.
- Resource person for Planned Giving across the Diocese of WNC.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors Degree
Experience in the fund-raising field
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Inspiring speaker
Knowledge of Episcopal Church appreciated.

Blue Ridge Humane Society is looking for someone with computer experience and general office experience. (Filling out deposit slips, phone skills, schedule appointments, mail opening, etc.) Necessary computer skills are excel, word perfect. Quickbooks would be helpful. We have a software called Donor Perfect that they will use a lot. $10 an hour. Might be increased next year. 20 – 25 hours a week, no benefits at this time. The position could grow into more hours. Flexible about the hours and or days worked. They would work mostly with Director and sometimes in the Thrift Store. Confidentially and good character are a must in the position.
