Presented by Will Deter. Will Deter is the Director of Systems & Strategy at the YMCA of Western North Carolina, where he leads enterprise systems, intelligence, and strategy. A doctoral candidate in Systems Science at Binghamton University, he brings a research background in complexity science and agent-based modeling to questions of how organizations adapt, decide, and change—work that shapes a distinctive lens on AI’s role in leadership. He has designed AI governance systems and studied the relationship between AI and institutional cognition. Drawing on 13 years of YMCA leadership experience, Will speaks and writes on where AI genuinely augments human judgment in organizations, and where it risks flattening the kind of thinking that leadership requires.
